November 30th- December 8th
A) During each class meeting this cycle, my progress was... Monday November 30th
My first goal regarding my project in general was to type, and update my progress update/post thanksgiving worksheets. I finished my post thanksgiving, and handed it into Dallas. My first goal regarding my paper is to type corrections on my paper for the 5 pages, I have this draft in my portfolio and have made the corrections.
My first goal regarding my senior seminar over all is organize the goals, and dates for cycle #5. I have my last set of goals organized. Wednesday December 2nd
My first goal regarding my paper is to upload two new paragraphs to turnitin.com I turned in my new paragraphs into turnitin.com and got the results back.
My second goal regarding my paper is to continue typing my paper and elaborate on the paragraphs I have outlined, I have continued to elaborate on the paragraphs I have outlined.
Friday December 4th My first goal regarding my senior sem is to organize my grades, and determine if there is anything I need to catch up on over the weekend. I checked my grades and made sure Dallas and I had the same grades for a few different things, and then let him know if something didn't match up.
My second goal for the my senior sem is to re-type my goals from cycle 1 and incorporating the 22 terms. I corrected my goals for cycle one and handed them in so I could get full credit. Weekend December 4-6th My first goal regarding my paper is to type the rest of my body paragraphs, and make sure they are organized in the order I want them to be in. I still want to write a paragraph or two about my project.
My first goal regarding my project is to post the information about the video, and survey on the facebook group. I have created a group called Senior Seminar: Prostitution and The Sex-Slave Industry.
My first goal regarding my powerpoint is to continue to examine possible pictures, and organize them into a folder of what I am going to use. I have a folder Senior Sem Powerpoint on my home computer and have been gathering pictures. Tuesday December 8th My first goal regarding my paper is to revise the paper myself, and then have my mom go through it and make corrections she has. I have went through and revised my paper, but I still need my mom to look other and make revisions.
My second goal regarding my paper is to complete typing my intro, and conclusion paragraphs. I still need to write my introduction and conclusion paragraphs.
My first goal regarding my portfolio is to get a new binder for my Senior Seminar stuff, and organize it with everything I have worked on this semester. I have organized all my papers from this semester into a new binder and used tabs to organize it.
My first goal for my project is to continue to encourage people to watch the video, and get information, and input from people who answer the questionnaire. I sent out another reminder to the people of the facebook group, and have been reading over the feedback I have received so far.
My first goal regarding my project when I met with my mentor was... To meet with her and inform her of how my project is going, and ask if she has watched the video yet. Then I will her answer the questions, and offer input on my project. I have talked to my mentor, and updated her on how my project is going. I also talked to her about the college students, and other people who have joined my group. She has not yet watched the movie and replied but is going to do it soon.

My first goal regarding my project is to watch video Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and organize notes, and information taken from the video. I have notes in my binder: Shared Hope International Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking. My first goal regarding my senior seminar over all is organize the goals, and dates for cycle #4. My goals/ dates are in order for cycle 4. Tuesday November 17th My first goal regarding my powerpoint is to met with Dallas, and clear up questions that I am unsure about. I cleared up my question whether the final powerpoint was due December 10th or if we would be able to edit it after the 10th.
My first goal for my paper is complete examining the books on runaways, and take notes on them. I have notes in my binder from book Life Issues Running Away. Thursday, November 19th My first goal regarding my powerpoint is to listen to Dr. Valenza and Mr. Rodolfs presentation, and deduce information, by taking notes. I have notes in my binder: Power Point Presentation.
My first goal regarding my paper is to go through and revise the paragraphs I have so far. I started to revise my paper but did not complete revising it yet.
Over Break... My first goal for my project is to watch the movie Demand on Shared Hope International website, and deduce information from it. I have watched the movie Demand and have information on it in my binder. My first goal for my paper is work on a new paragraph on how young boys are involved in prostitution. I have a new paragraph in my paper on young boys in prostitution.
My second goal regarding my paper is to update my sources on noodlebib. My sources have been updated.
My second goal regarding my project is to brainstorm how I will share the video Demand with others, and create a wikispace, facebook group, or blog for people to learn more information. I have brainstormed with my dad and have a paper in my binder, with a draft of the message I will send out to people.

My first goal regarding my project when I met with my mentor was... When I meet with my mentor, is to get my Mentor Progress Report done. I also talked to her about my new idea for my project, and brainstorm how to get high school students interested in this topic. When I met with her I also asked her to watch the video Demand when she had a chance, and will ask her about it next time I meet with her. My first goal regarding my paper is to organize my sources by making note cards for in-text documentation. I have started note cards for the different sources, and in text documentations I used. My first goal regarding my project is to brainstorm and elaborate ideas for my project, the showing of Very Young Girls. I have notes Project Brainstorming Nov 5th. My first goal regarding my senior seminar over all is organize the goals, and dates for cycle #3. I organized my dates, and goals from the cycle to come. Weekend of Friday November 6th-November 8th My first goal for my paper is to complete my note cards on my sources for my paper. I completed the note cards and they are in my binder.
My second goal for my paper is to generate a outline my body paragraphs. I have a detailed outline in my binder of the four body paragraphs.
My third goal for my paper is to type my four body paragraphs. I have created 4 body paragraphs printed out and they are in my binder. Monday, November 9th My first goal regarding my paper is to meet with Dr. Valenza, and explain my thesis, ask for help, and get more sources from her. I spoke to Dr. Valenza before and during homeroom and got new sources.
My second goal regarding my paper is upload my paper into turnitin.com, and get corrections for paper. I turned my paper in, and got 0%.
My third goal regarding my paper is to deduce information from the new resources I found Independent schools some for the worst: Bell, A third of Homeless Teenagers Survive by Prostitution. I have the articles, and generated notes from these two articles. Wednesday, November 11th
My first goal regarding my paper to type two body paragraphs focusing on runaway girls and the reasons for running away. I have created two new body paragraphs, and have them saved in working draft.
My second goal regarding my paper is to read and deduce information from articles The Real Cause of Teen Hooking, and books Running Away, and Teen Runaways. I have read and examined these articles, and books and took notes on them in my binder.
My first goal regarding my project is to look into, and examine information about Shared Hope International. My first goal regarding my paper is to organize information from book Human Trafficking. I went through the book and gathered helpful information, and have it in my binder on a paper Human Trafficking in the news. My second goal regarding my project is to interpret the movie Very Young Girls, and get an idea of what the life of prostitution is actually like, I watched the movie once and it gave me a general idea of the situations that some girls are facing.
My first goal regarding my senior seminar over all is organize the goals, and dates for cycle #2, I have organized the dates, for my goals and progress for cycle #2. Thursday, October 29th My first goal regarding my paper is to update noodletools, and my works consulted for the sources I have used so far, I organized my citations, and have them in a document Senior Seminar Works Consulted.
My second goal regarding my paper is outline, and organize the topics I will include in my paper. I do not yet have a outline on paper, but have been thinking about, and going over it in my head. Monday, November 2nd
My first goal regarding my paper is to examine an interview of Rachel Lloyd (founder of GEM) Exploited and trafficked girls in the United States.Rachel Lloyd Interview . I listened to the interview and have take notes in my binder Rachel Lloyd Interview
My second goal regarding my paper is to narrow down my topic, and create a thesis statement. I spoke with Dallas on Monday, and worked down my thesis, premise and conclusions. I have the notes from in and my binder, and it is now updated on my wiki.
My first goal regarding my project is to interpret the movie Slumdog Millionaire, and how the children in the movie were forced into bringing home money the same way prostitutes have to. I watched the movie and took notes,the way that the kids are taken into the working life at a young age, and coerced/forced into making money, can relate to the girls in prostitution. Thursday November 5th My first goal regarding my paper is to read and deduce information from article Lost Girl by Jeannine Amber. I read the article and have notes from it in my binder Special Report. I also visited the website talked about in the article gems-girls.org/serviceproviders.html, and found no Philadelphia organizations.
My second goal regarding my paper is to email Dr. Valenza, and schedule a time to meet with her when she comes back. I emailed with Mrs. Valenza and we are scheduled to meet Monday morning before/during homeroom.
My second goal regarding my project is to re-watch, and deduce information from the movie Very Young Girls. I have not yet watched the movie again, to take notes, and deduce more information from the movie.
My first goal regarding my project when I met with my mentor was... When I meet with my mentor, my goal is to update her on what I have been working on, and get her to fill out the mentor progress report. I have the mentor progress report, and spoke with her about strategies to starting my paper. She suggested making annotated note cards for each source, which I believe I am going to do.

My second goal regarding my presentation is start outlining parts of presentation, I did not get an outline of my presentation done this weekend. Monday, October 26th - Tuesday, October 27th

My second goal regarding my paper is to discuss with my dad, solutions ideas for topics for paper. I talked to my dad about my project a little but need to continue to talk to him more this week.
My first goal regarding my project is look through photos from Ukraine Trips, and find pictures that may be helpful for project. I looked through my pictures from both trips to Ukraine, and have made a folder on my computer Senior Seminar Pictures.

When I meet with my mentor on Monday, October 26th during homeroom, just let her know my thoughts for my actual project. Ask if she has ideas on where to show the movie, and how to go about it. I talked to Ms. Mbriwa and updated her on my ideas for my project. She suggested having a showing of the movie at my church.

My first goal regarding my paper is outline the topics for each paragraph. I did not get my paragraphs outlined for my paper this weekend.
My second goal regarding my project is rent Very Young Girls from Netflix. I ordered the movie from Netflix, and it should be here this week.

When I meet with my mentor on Monday, October 26th during homeroom, just let her know my thoughts for my actual project. Ask if she has ideas on where to show the movie, and how to go about it. I talked to Ms. Mbriwa and updated her on my ideas for my project. She suggested having a showing of the movie at my church.
